Based in New York, Tim McFadden uses the elements of both the linear and organic world that surrounds him to create his art. He was born in a small town in Ohio and raised in the country. Tim has sculpted and painted since he was a child and is self taught but for a handful of private lessons. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kent State University and has spent time in Europe studying other artists. His artwork is owned by private collectors throughout the United States and Europe, can be found in fine art galleries, restaurants and in the hospitality industry. He also sells to the trade and his work has been used for movie and television set-design. The energy and colour in his work comes from a need to break free from the confines of his youth and to widen the path of his creative journey. He often uses texture juxtaposed with strong graphic elements that suggest an inner conflict. Carefully hidden by many beautiful layers of colour is a world that exists unto itself. Every layer traces of the one before until the last elements- the most obvious elements - boldly reach outward demanding to be noticed. Tim McFadden considers his creativity intrinsic and his expression of it solely environmental. He is a painter and sculptor, a published writer, a writer of poetry and music, a designer and whatever else the moment he is living in requires him to be.
Tim McFadden's original come in a variety of sizes shown are examples of 12" x 12", 24" x 24" , 30" x 30" on paper and 24" x 54" canvas.
