Wallace and Gromit

Wallace and Gromit

Wallace & Gromit are animated characters created by 4 times Oscar winner Nick Park CBE. They appear in 4 short films, A Grand Day Out (1989), The Wrong Trousers (1993), A Close Shave (1995), A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008), and the hit feature film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005).  Wallace is an inventor with a house full of labour saving gadgets, though they don’t always go to plan! Still, he can always relax with his best friend and faithful dog Gromit... and a nice bit of Wensleydale cheese. Gromit is Wallace’s faithful four legged friend. Though cultural and sensitive, preferring order and the quiet life, Gromit displays amazing courage and heroism when it comes to getting his master out of self-made scrapes. Created from modelling clay on metal armatures, Wallace & Gromit are filmed using stop frame animation. Wallace is voiced by Peter Sallis while Gromit remains silent, communicating only through facial expressions and body language. Thoroughly British, quirky and endearing Wallace & Gromit have huge international recognition, winning over 60 awards to date, including 3 Oscars, 5 BAFTAs and 9 Annies along the way. The duo celebrated the 20th anniversary of their first appearance on our screens (A Grand Day Out) in November 2009.
