Artwork of the Week - 26th May 2014

Posted by Union Art 26/05/2014 0 Comment(s) Artwork of the Week,

Andrei Protsouk - Avenue of the Hearts.

Did you catch the TV programme Posh Pawn last week? The show featured an original painting by the artist Andrei Protsouk! In the show Millie, a self-confessed shopaholic sold two modern art paintings to help raise some money.  One of the paintings was a beautiful Andrei Protsouk original oil on canvas. She originally purchased the artwork for £7,000 and has been enjoying the piece on her wall for the last few years. 'Prestige', the up-market pawn brokers, had the artwork valued at an art gallery and offered Mille £39,000 for the piece!

Art really has proved to be a great investment option, plus you get the added benefit of owning something you can enjoy for years before you choose to sell it.

Andrei Protsouk, the artist featured in the show,  was born in the Ukraine in 1961. He loved to paint and draw from a young age. He graduated from the Lugansk State School of Fine Art in 1981, he then went on to complete a Masters Degree in 1990 from the Repine Academy of Fine Arts (now called the Russian Academy of Arts). The Russian Academy of Arts is still to this day regarded, in the art world, as one of the best classical MFA art training programs in the world for its art education.

Andrei's traditional and classic education gives him the confidence to create artworks in his own unique style.

Andrei Protsouk has exhibited throughout the world and his corporate clients include Coca Cola, Johnnie Walker Expo Co. and Imperial Cosmetics. His works can also be found in private collections throughout the world including that of President George W Bush.

Avenue of the Hearts is a Signed Limited Edition Giclee Print by Andrei Protsouk. The edition size is just 50 and each one is a heavily hand embellished canvas on board.

He takes particular interest in representing love and this is evident in this artwork. His paintings often show people flirting, kissing and hugging.  His angular line painting style really is unique and instantly recognisable as his. Andrei's full collection of Limited Edition Prints can be viewed at Union Art.
