Pam Carter - Room with a Rum View

Pam Carter produces strong and powerful artwork of the Scottish landscape that surrounds her. She is a favourite with us at Union Art and has a huge following from collectors through the UK. Her work is in numerous private and public collections including Royal Bank of Scotland, University of Liverpool and Cameron House.  She is also a multi award winner and has had her work featured twice on BBC2.

Pam Carter was born in East Africa to an Austrian mother and Scottish father. She moved to Scotland at the age of thirteen. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art in the seventies and began her teaching career. She taught in the mid-eighties in various colleges. After lecturing full time at Falkirk College she now concentrates full time on painting. Although she has travelled extensively,  Scotland has always remained her favourite place.

Room with a Rum View is one of our desired Limited Edition Prints by Pam Carter. We love the strong colours in this expressive landscape. The powerful colours in the sky reflect the drama of the light, this, along with the Scottish land is what inspires Pam Carter to paint. She comments on her inspiration "My main inspiration is in the Scottish land and seascape. I enjoy using colour to define contours, structure and changing light sequences. I search out specific view points. I am equally inspired by the rugged isolation of the Western Isles and the dramatic view points of the Eastern coastline."
