Rayford - Thames-Have-Changed

We are pleased to introduce you to a new collection of Signed Limited Edition Prints from the artist Rayford. Our favourite from this new range is the aptly titled Thames-Have-Changed. This canvas piece features a familiar cityscape scene of London landmarks which include The Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, all set on the River Thames. Although the scene is familiar the picture is distorted, it almost appears that you are viewing it through a fish eye lens. The artwork style is fun and quirky and brings character that is recognisably Rayford. His work is inspired by beautiful landscapes and the eclectic mix of new and historic architecture that can be found around the UK. The edition size of this Limited Edition Print is just 50 worldwide, it is supplied framed, ready to hang on the wall.

Rayford was born near Wigan in 1978 and moved to York as a young child, and now resides in one of its picturesque surrounding villages. His full name is Rayford James Holroyd but because of his distinctive style he is just known as Rayford.

While studying for a degree in Industrial Design at university, Rayford developed his passion for art in his spare time. Financial pressures of being a student were eased by producing pencil drawings to commission, even selling one of his early drawings to the Hon Simon Howard of Castle Howard, North Yorkshire.

Subsequent years were spent working as a 3d designer, while Rayford continued to produce pencil drawings to commission, and for his own pleasure when time allowed.

Entirely self taught he was keen to begin working in colour and to explore the possibilities this would bring. Finding time to endulge his artistic sensibilities was difficult so in 2010 Rayford decided to pursue his interest in art as a full time profession, and commit time to developing his ability and style. Rayford's work can now be seen in numerous galleries around the UK and he has built up a great following of fans.

His current work is a far departure from the pencil drawings he used to create. To view the full collection of Limited Edition Prints by Rayford take a look at Union Art. All artworks are very small in edition size so don't make the mistake of missing out on your favourite piece!
