Georgina McMaster - Angus

Georgina McMaster has been a top selling artist at Union Art since she joined us in 2012. Many of her previous Limited Edition Prints are sold out which is why we are over the moon to bring you a brand new portfolio of work from this talented wildlife artist. Georgina is well known for her striking Highland cow artworks.

Georgina McMaster was born in 1980. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2002 with a BA (Hons) Visual Communication, specialising in Drawing, Painting and Illustration.

She continued her studies for a further year, studying Teacher Training at Bath Spa University.

Georgina McMaster is one of Scotland's most exciting contemporary artists. Her art work explores aspects of our natural environment and specifically the animals around us. In using a largely blank background in her limited edition prints, she makes the animal the prominent significant subject and she uses careful compositional techniques to give and bring out the animal's personality and character.

Georgina McMaster was awarded the First Time Exhibitor prize in 2007 at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the David Cargill Award in 2008 by the prestigious Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. Also in 2008, she was elected as an Artist Member of the Glasgow Art Club. Her paintings and limited edition prints are now widely exhibited throughout the UK. Georgina has been featured in many magazines and newspapers including: Scottish Field Magazine, Art News Scotland Journal, The Herald Newspaper, Galleries Magazine, Scottish Women Magazine, Paisley Daily Express, Sunday Mail, The Scotsman Newspaper and The Glasgow Magazine.

"Angus" by Georgina McMaster is a Signed Limited Edition Giclée Print of 295 copies with deckled / feathered edge. It comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity and is a fantastic example of the artwork she is famous for. Talking about her work Georgina McMaster says "My work is mainly based on animals, in particular Scottish wildlife. I use acrylic paint on canvas, leaving the background blank to draw the focus purely on the animal. Capturing the soul of the animal in their eyes, the softness of the fur and the wetness of the Scottish weather on the beast, is what I endeavour to create in my work. I try to achieve the different textures by using lots of light layers of paint and a wide variety of brushes."

The full collection of Signed Limited Edition Prints by Georgina McMaster can be viewed at Union Art. Each piece has been reviewed and signed by the artist. Each print series from Union Art is available for immediate delivery and can be shipped worldwide.
