Lawrence Coulson

Lawrence Coulson was born into an artistic family.  As the son of Gerald Coulson, one of the country's foremost landscape and aviation artists, Lawrence Coulson consequently grew up surrounded by artLawrence Coulson was always encouraged to draw, his main subject being cars.

At 21 Lawrence Coulson's father encouraged him to try oil painting and he sold his first pictures for £30 each at the local pub, providing him with the confidence to approach a local gallery. Lawrence Coulson gained the attention of the Halcyon Gallery who exhibited his work and subsequently Washington Green Publishers . Lawrence Coulson continued to work by day as a retail manager until, on the 4th July 1997 when he was able to hand in his notice and become a professional artist.

With galleries selling out and public interest forever rising, one could say that Lawrence Coulson has gone from strength to strength defying so-called academic odds and proving himself as a professional.  Lawrence Coulson toured world-wide with his exhibition "Moods" and won the prestigious Fine Arts Trade Guild award for Best-Selling Artist (2003).
